Ask the Old Peoplea BotForeman™ project
Every story deserves to be heard

Ask the old people. They know things.

Every family has someone with stories worth hearing. Now they can have a personal companion who listens, talks with them, and, with their permission, writes those stories down for the people who love them.

Twenty-six seconds that explain it

This is our short spot. Sound on.

A companion, not a gadget

It is a personal AI assistant that lives on a phone or tablet and talks out loud. We set it up for one person, in their words, with their name for it, and we look after it so nobody in the family has to become the computer person.

It listens

Hold the button and talk. No typing, no menus. Ask it anything, or just tell it about your day.

It talks back

In a calm, clear voice, as slow or as loud as they like. It never gets tired of the same question.

It reads and writes

A letter from a grandchild, a label on a bottle, a form from the county. Read aloud, or written out from spoken words.

It keeps the stories

With their say-so, what they tell it is saved and organized into a book of their life, ready to share with the family at the touch of a button.

What a day with it sounds like

These three are examples we wrote to show the kind of conversation we mean. They are not recordings of a customer.

Morning

Companion: Good morning, Walt. It's Tuesday, and it's going to be sunny. Do you want me to read the paper, or would you rather tell me something?

Walt: You know I never told anyone about the winter of forty-nine.

Companion: I'd like to hear it. Do you want me to keep it for the kids, or is this one just for us?

Walt: Keep it. Alright. The snow started on a Thursday...

A letter

Marian: Something came in the mail from Ellie. Read it to me?

Companion: Here it is. "Dear Grandma, I made the volleyball team..." Would you like to answer her? Just tell me what to say and I'll write it out.

Marian: Tell her I'm proud of her, and tell her about the time I played on the boys' team because there wasn't a girls' one.

Companion: I'll write it. And that story about the boys' team, may I keep it in your book too?

Sunday, from three states away

Daughter: Mom's companion sent me a new chapter today. It's the one about how she met Dad at the grain elevator. I'd never heard the part about the flat tire.

How it gets set up

  1. You call us, or tell Iris what you need on botforeman.com. We talk about who it's for and what they'd enjoy.
  2. We set it up on their phone or tablet and give it a name and a voice they like.
  3. We stay with them for the first conversations, in person where we can and over the phone anywhere, until it feels natural.
  4. We keep looking after it. When something needs attention, that's our job, not the family's.

For the son or daughter far away

You are the one who worries about the stories being lost. This is for you as much as for them. Their companion can send new stories to the family members they choose, so the book grows while you're not there. And they decide what's kept. Nothing is saved without them saying so, and it belongs to them.

For care homes and senior centers

Some residents love to talk and don't always have someone to talk to. A companion set up for one resident gives them a listener any hour of the day, and a way to leave their stories to the family. We're glad to do a demonstration for your residents and staff, in person where we can and by video call anywhere, with no obligation. Ask for Noah or Rosonna.

Ask about a demonstration

What it is not

It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a monitor that watches anyone. It is not a replacement for people. It is company, help with reading and writing, and a way to keep what they say. We would rather tell you that plainly than promise something we can't keep.

What it costs

A one-time setup, then a monthly care plan that covers keeping it running and answering the phone when you need us. Prices as of September 2026; the current list is always at botforeman.com.

One person

$295 setup
then $99.99 a month

A family

$589 setup
then $79.99 a month per assistant

A care home or business

$1,200 setup
then $249 a month

The assistant uses the person's own account with the AI provider, which is theirs to keep. We charge for the setup and the looking after, never for reselling anyone's service.

We are a family business. We are not computer people either, so we won't talk over your head.
